Alison had the brilliant idea of opening her first location in Boston’s historic North End: a tourist mecca with plenty of foot traffic. The challenge was that at the time, the North End was not known for clothing boutiques, but mostly Italian eateries and small gift shops.

My initial ideas centered around a logo mark that would be an immediate visual that portrayed clothing, specifically denim. Alison was on board and we narrowed the visual to jean pockets. We designed a beautiful wooden blade sign for the street, which drew people in, and they loved Alison’s finely curated selection of designer jeans.

Injeanius became a boutique North End staple, garnering local Boston press, as well as additional shop owners opening clothing boutiques in the neighborhood. This further increased foot traffic and increased sales.

When Injeanius outgrew the small original store, Alison took advantage of the burgeoning Seaport District, and relocated to The Superette, a high-end, European-style residential and retail center.

We took this opportunity to rebrand, designing a new logo, updating the color palette, and working with typography to solidify the tagline: Elevate the Everyday.

Injeanius has been going strong for 17 years now, which is becoming a rarity in the brick and mortar boutique space.
